City man jailed for drugs, theft

A Vicksburg man was in the Issaquena County Jail this morning held without bond for cocaine possession and possession of stolen property.

Myron Maurice Henderson, 25, 1207 Jefferson St., was arrested at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday at his home and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of stolen property, said Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department.

During his arrest, police recovered nearly 12 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $800 and a camera, which had been reported missing on Oct. 8 through the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, said Stewart.

Henderson’s arrest was the result of an undercover operation stemming from multiple complaints of drug activity in the neighborhood, said Stewart.

Previously, Henderson had been released on a $15,000 bond from the Warren County Jail on a vehicle theft charge from May 21, said Stewart.

Jewelry, air conditioner missing in burglaries

Two residential burglaries were reported in the city and county Wednesday.

Two gold necklaces valued at $400 were reported missing at 5:37 p.m. from a home in the 1400 block of First East Street.

An air conditioner was reported missing at 11:25 p.m. from a home in the 400 block of Lealand Drive.
