Boley, Hubbard marry at Greater Grove Street

Kenneth Ray Boley Jr. and Tiffany Chanté Hubbard were married at 3 p.m. May 9, 2009, at Greater Grove Street M.B. Church. Dr. Casey Fisher officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hubbard Sr. of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Hazel L. Bell and Alice Jones of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of Kenneth Boley Sr. of Athens, Ala., and Marilyn Pointer of Atlanta. He is the grandson of Mary Francis Drake of Kansas City, Mo., and Clayton and Millie Woods of Athens.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were ivory, coral and black.

Nuptial music was provided by C.J. Williams and Linda Powell.

Maid of honor was Monica Jackson, cousin of the bride, of Birmingham, Ala. Bridesmaids were LaShanda Drake of Atlanta and Tonya Boley of Huntsville, Ala., sisters of the groom; Nicole Spillman of Hattiesburg; Katwalla Anderson of Vicksburg; and Samera Johnson of Mobile, Ala.

Junior bride was Jaiden Hubbard, niece of the bride, of Dallas, Texas.

The groom’s father and Michael Boley, brother of the groom, of New Jersey served as best men. Groomsmen were Jason Hubbard, brother of the bride, of Dallas; Christopher Boley, brother of the groom, of Athens; D’ron Jones, cousin of the bride, of Memphis; Anthony Harris of Montgomery, Ala.; and Zeke Sandhu of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Ushers were Evan Brown and Antonio Williams, both of Vicksburg.

Flower girls were Kaitlyn Westbrook, daughter of the groom, of Hattiesburg; and Teaja Boley, niece of the groom, of Huntsville. Ring bearer was McKale Boley of Hattiesburg. 

Special wedding assistants were Marie Cage of Woodville; Hazel Jones, aunt and godmother of the bride, of Memphis; Debra Goodman of Vicksburg; the bride’s father; and Larry Hubbard and Joe Jones, uncles of the bride, of Memphis.

A reception followed at the Vicksburg City Auditorium.

Hostesses were LaTonya Jackson, Bridgette Bell, Tonisha Agee, Jessica Adkinson, Alesha Bell, Danielle Jones and Emily Hester.

The couple will make their home in Attalla, Ala.

The bride is an honors graduate of Holmes Community College, where she received an Associate of Arts degree in secondary education/physical education and was a member of the Lady Bulldog basketball team. She received the Best Defensive Player award, the Lady Bulldog Award, the Dazzler Award and the Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame and was a member of Who’s Who Among High School and College Students. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in coaching from the University of Southern Mississippi.

The groom received Bachelor of Science degrees in kinesiotherapy, exercise science and coaching administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Surprise

The bride and groom were honored with a surprise ride to the reception in a Bentley by Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Stamps, godsister of the bride, of Vicksburg.

Showers

Mary Jackson, aunt of the bride, and LaTonya Jackson and Monica Jackson, cousins of the bride, honored the couple with a kitchen and bath shower.

The bridal couple was honored with a miscellaneous shower hosted by Leslie Maxwell of Vicksburg and Emily Hester, aunt of the bride, of Houston, Texas.
