Jessie McGuffie Duncan died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. She was 70.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Duncan retired as supervisor of the safe-deposit department of BancorpSouth after 40 years of service. She was a member of Bovina Baptist Church, where she served with the Children’s Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Duncan; one sister, Adelle Conrad; and three brothers, John McGuffee, Austin McGuffie and James McGuffee.

She is survived by four brothers, Robert McGuffie, Sidney McGuffee and Billy McGuffie, all of Vicksburg, and Charlie McGuffee of Winter Garden, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert Conrad, Jess Sumrall and Sonny McGuffee officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon Tuesday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Ken McGuffee, Rodney McGuffee, Barry McGuffee, the Rev. Sonny McGuffee, Ricky Vessell, Randy Vessell, Chad Duncan and Waverly Duncan.

Honorary pallbearers will be M.L. Hallman, Bill Clark, Dr. Jimmy Vessell, Tel Duncan and Robbie Vessell.
