Vicksburg native Douglas H. Vinzant Jr. has been named vice president of administration at the University of Wyoming.

He manages financial, operational and administrative services and directs the school’s Division of Planning and Administration, which has about 300 employees.

Before joining UW, Vinzant was senior associate vice president for planning and administration at the University of Illinois.

Vinzant is the son of Douglas H. Vinzant Sr. of Raymond and the late Patricia Vinzant. He is the grandson of the late George W. and Dorothy C. Vinzant and the late Pete and Mary Scott, all of Vicksburg.
