Miss Ellis, Mr. Ehrgott to recite vows Sept. 5

The engagement of Anna Karon Ellis to Scot Burrell Ehrgott, both of Jackson, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 5 p.m. Sept. 5, 2009, at the reservoir in Jackson. A reception will follow at Northpointe Red Barn.

Miss Ellis is the daughter of Kathy Ellis and Ronald Dean Ellis of Brandon.

She is the granddaughter of the late W.D. Hammonds and Rebecca Hammonds of Yazoo City.

Mr. Ehrgott is the son of Mrs. John Qua Ehrgott and the late Mr. Ehrgott of Vicksburg.

He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William A. Ehrgott of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and the late Dr. and Mrs. Edgar O. Horger of Greenville, S.C.

The bride-elect graduated with honors from Northwest Rankin High School in 2002.

She graduated cum laude from Millsaps College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She was a member of Phi Mu sorority and Sigma Tau Delta English honorary.

Miss Ellis is a graduate student at Mississippi College, where she is pursuing a Master of Science degree in corporate communications and public relations.

The prospective groom graduated with high honors from Warren Central High School in 1991. He lettered in tennis and soccer, was team MVP and All-Star game MVP. He received the Senior Precalculus Award.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Mississippi State University, where he played soccer and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

He received a Master of Business Administration degree from Millsaps College, where he was a member of Alpha Beta Gamma honorary.

Mr. Ehrgott is a licensed professional engineer and is director of consulting services for MDOT. He is a board representative of the Greater Belhaven Neighborhood Association.
