Services for Virtis Shorter Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Travelers Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas E. Bernard officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Shorter died Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. He was 60.

He was a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church.
