The engagement of Danica Ralene Hart of Vinton, La., to Matthew Davis Tanner of Shreveport, La., is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. Aug. 29, 2009, at Summer Chase/Cotton Bayou Beach in Orange Beach, Ala. A reception will follow. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Miss Hart is the daughter of Ray Robbins of Vinton and Leah Angemi of Shreveport. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Williams of Texas.

Mr. Tanner is the son of Robert and Susan Pharr of Vicksburg and the late David E. Tanner. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Bradley of Natchez, Betty Tanner of Lucedale and Mary Pharr of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect attended Vinton High School and Meridian Community College.

The prospective groom attended Vicksburg High School, where he was on the soccer team, and Hinds Community College, where he received a degree in drafting and design. He was a member of the Home Builders Club.

Mr. Tanner is an engineering draftsman manager for Valveworks USA in Shreveport.
