PEARL — Mississippi’s offense couldn’t get going at all Thursday night.
Steve Bray held the M-Braves to three hits and no runs as the D-Jaxx won, 3-0 and the Braves dropped their second straight at Trustmark Park.
With the game in a scoreless tie, Marshall Hubbard singled and Johan Limonta doubled to right. With two outs in the inning, Travis Garcia hit a chopper up the middle that neither Travis Jones nor Brandon Hicks could make a play on. The ball trickled into centerfield allowing both runners to score. From there on out, it was all Bray.
Bray gave up three hits through eight innings and struck out five to earn his third win of the year.
Bray has thrown 22 consecutive scoreless innings against the M-Braves. Phillippe Aumont tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his third save of the year.
The D-Jaxx added an unearned run in the ninth to make the final.
