Aziz, Bryant announce plans for Aug. 8 wedding

Gabrielle L. Bryant and Wali A. Aziz Jr., both of Vicksburg, will be married at 1 p.m. Aug. 8, 2009, at the Chapel of Memories in Starkville. A reception will follow at the Butler-William Alumni House.

Miss Bryant is the daughter of Mary Bryant-Plump of Vicksburg.

Mr. Aziz is the son of Wali Aziz Sr. and Carolyn Aziz of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect graduated with high honors in 2002 from Vicksburg High School, where she was a member of the Vicksburg Pride marching band, swim team, cheerleading squad, HOSA, the newspaper staff, 4-H and the National Honor Society.

She graduated with high honors in 2004 from Hinds Community College in Raymond, where she received an associate of arts degree in biology pre-medicine. She was named a dean’s and president’s scholar and was a member of the Hi-Steppers dance team, SGA, Who’s Who Among College Students and Phi Theta Kappa honor society.

She graduated cum laude from Alcorn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and dietetics. She served as vice president of the Food Science Club and was a member of Who’s Who Among College Students, MANRRS, the ASU cheering squad, Alpha Kappa Mu honor society and Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.

Miss Bryant attends Mississippi State University, where she is pursuing a Master of Science degree in food science, nutrition and health promotion. She is an AGEM Scholar and a member of the Food Science Club, Gamma Sigma Delta honor society and Phi Lambda Zeta graduate chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. She is serving as a dietetic intern for the State of Mississippi in the Golden Triangle Area. 

The prospective groom graduated with honors in 2002 from Warren Central High School, where he served as president of the Chess Club and was a member of the Magnolia Bar Mock Trial and Big Blue Band.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering and is pursuing a Master of Science degree in computational engineering with a minor in mathematics from Mississippi State University, where he was named a dean’s and president’s scholar numerous times.

Mr. Aziz is an engineer for Jacob’s Engineering.
