Two Vicksburg engineers have been awarded the 2009 American Society of Civil Engineers’ Lifetime Achievemen Award.
Andrew Garcia of the Engineer and Research Development Center and Richard Stuart of the Mississippi River Commission each received the honor for being ASCE members for their entire professional career.
Mississippi has 152 lifetime ASCE members.
Stuart is retired, and Garcia has been in Australia for the past two weeks, lecturing on Hurricane Katrina.
