Port Gibson’s Hall helps Biscuits split with M-Braves|Minor league baseball

Port Gibson native J.T. Hall singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth inning Monday, and the Montgomery Biscuits went on to earn a split of a doubleheader with a 3-2 victory in game two.

In the first game, Eric Campbell hit a two-run homer and Jose Ortegano threw six shutout innings as the M-Braves won 3-1. Ortegano allowed four hits, walked one and struck out seven. Concepcion Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

In game two, Rodriguez scored on a double steal in the second inning and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth as the M-Braves took a 2-0 lead. Montgomery tied it with Pedro Powell’s two-run triple in the fifth, then took the lead on Hall’s RBI single in the sixth.

Hall, who did not play in the first game, is hitting .429 (6-for-14) with two doubles and two RBIs in his last four games.
