Evans, Hullum recite vows July 11

Christopher Lee Evans and Mary Kathryn Hullum were married at 5 p.m. July 11, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Clinton. Danny Bartlett officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Debra Hullum of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late V.B. and Virginia Deaton and Mary Virginia Hullum and the late Ralph Hullum, all of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of Cary and Charlotte Evans of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Obed and Obera Germany of Union and Walter and Eunice Evans of Clinton.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen color was lilac.

A program of music was presented by Karen Floyd, pianist.

Maid of honor was Jamie Hullum, sister of the bride, of Mobile, Ala. Bridesmaids were Ashley Bartlett of Vicksburg, Jana Guynes of Gulfport and Laura Beth Cockrell of Clinton.

Flower girl was Mary-Ashlynne Gordon, cousin of the bride, of McComb.

The groom’s brother, Scott Evans of Clinton, served as best man. Groomsmen were Collin Berger of Clinton, Matthew Wilkins of Brandon, Jason Townsend of Hattiesburg and Matthew Grant of Birmingham, Ala.

Special wedding assistant was Leila Wilkins.

A reception followed in the fellowship hall of the church. Hostesses were Judy Deaton Simmons and Olga Barfield, aunts of the bride; Andrea Will and Carey-Leigh Cross, cousins of the bride; and Olga Barfield, cousin of the groom.

Streamers were distributed by the bride’s cousins.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada. They will make their home in Clinton.

The bride is a ninth-grade English teacher at Sumner Hill Junior High School in the Clinton Public School District. The groom is employed at Hinds Community College and Century 21 and owns Evans Investments.

Bridesmaids’ luncheon

The bride and her mother hosted a bridesmaids’ luncheon on the morning of the wedding at the Latimer House in Clinton.

Rehearsal dinner

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the University Club in Jackson.

Bachelorette celebration

The bride was honored by her bridesmaids with a bachelorette celebration at Paul B. Johnson State Park and the Okatoma River.

Bachelor party

Groomsmen honored the groom with a bachelor party in Asheville, N.C.

Showers

Jana Guynes, Laura Cockrell and Ashley Bartlett hosted a lingerie shower for the bride in Jackson.

Peter and Tiffany Glover, James and Megan Logan and Jason and Holly Moulder hosted a garden and tool shower at the Moulder home in Utica.

The bride’s family hosted a miscellaneous shower in McComb.

Tina Rushing, Brenda Parker, Lyda Gilmore, Lynn Odell, Ruth Ann Broome and Barbara Ratliff hosted a miscellaneous shower at the Rushing home in Terry.

Linda Turner, Misty Carlisle and the staff of Redwood Elementary hosted a miscellaneous shower for the bride.
