Miss McMinn to marry Mr. Wilkins on Aug. 22

The engagement of Candice Lynn McMinn of Vicksburg to James Matthew Wilkins of Nashville, Tenn., is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. Aug. 22, 2009, at Scarritt-Bennett’s Wightman Chapel on the campus of Vanderbilt University in Nashville. A reception will follow at 3rd Avenue South in Nashville.
Miss McMinn is the daughter of Gary and Melissa Young of Vicksburg and Clark McMinn of Starkville. She is the granddaughter of Chris and Martha Shillingburg and Robert Ford III, all of Starkville; Ted and Kay Schmitz of Memphis; and David Young and the late Phyllis Young of Orlando, Fla.
Mr. Wilkins is the son of Jim and Sandra Wilkins of Nashville. He is the grandson of Wilma Durham of Portland, Tenn.
The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and Beta Club.
She graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in marketing and a minor in Spanish. She was a member of Phi Mu sorority.
Miss McMinn is a sales consultant for Dell Computer Corporation.
The prospective groom is a 2002 graduate of Beech High School, where he played basketball.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in sports management from the University of Tennessee. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.
Mr. Wilkins is a customer service representative for the National Association of State Board of Accountancy.
