Silver Creek man charged with rape

A Silver Creek, Miss., man was in the Warren County Jail today charged with statutory rape, jail records showed.
Justin Phillips, 20, 415 Garrett Road, was held without bond pending an initial court hearing. He was arrested in Lawrence County on a Warren County warrant charging him with rape of a child younger than 14, Sheriff Martin Pace said.
Phones, cash, shoes among missing items
Several items were reported stolen in the city Monday, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
A purse valued at $40, contents and an LG cellular phone valued at $200 were reported taken from a 2004 Dodge Durango at Zip’s gas station and convenience store at 887 U.S. 61 North at 12:15 Monday afternoon.
A GE air-conditioner valued at $199 was reported stolen from a home in the 1400 block of Main Street at 3:30 p.m.
An MP3 player valued at $100, a PlayStation 2 valued at $200, a JVC camcorder valued at $150, a Nokia cellular phone valued at $120 and $400 were reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Lovers Lane at 4 p.m.
A bottle of Kenneth Cole Black cologne valued at $59 and a pair of Spears casual shoes valued at $50 were reported stolen from a home in the 300 block of Bayou Boulevard at 11:30 p.m.
About $75 was reported stolen from a home in the 1200 block of China Street at 3:15.
Dodge reported stolen on Campbell Swamp
In Warren County, a sports utility vehicle was reported stolen.
A red 1999 Dodge Durango, license number WAI221, was reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Campbell Swamp Road at 8:52 a.m. Monday.
