Kody Kirkland capped off a monster night by doubling in the winning run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, and the Mississippi Braves beat Mobile 6-5 in a wild game Tuesday night at Trustmark Park.

Kirkland went 5-for-5 with three doubles, two RBIs and a run scored. Concepcion Rodriguez was 3-for-5 with three runs scored, while Ricardo Sosa went 3-for-5 for Mobile.

The M-Braves rallied from a three-run deficit by scoring two runs in the sixth and another in the seventh. Mobile’s Peter Clifford answered with a solo homer in the eighth, but the M-Braves tied it again in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single by Greg Creek.

In the bottom of the ninth, Rodriguez reached on a one-out single and stole second. Kirkland followed with his fifth hit, and third double of the game, to bring in the winning run.
