Dan Walker Sr.

LORMAN — Dan Walker Sr. died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at Patient Choice Hospital in Port Gibson.

Mr. Walker was a member, deacon and choir member emeritus at East Mount Olive M.B. Church of Red Lick. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge, Crossroad Lodge No. 433 and a veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Davis Walker; his parents; a son, James Walker; a daughter, Mary Louise Walker; and one brother, James Walker Sr.

Survivors include eight sons, Dan Walker Jr. of San Antonio, S.L. Walker of Houston, Sheriff Peter Walker of Lorman, the Rev. Melvin Walker and Dennis Walker, both of Atlanta, Leon Walker of Austin, and the Rev. Leonard Walker and Minister Terry Walker, both of Vicksburg; one daughter, Geraldine Jackson of Gretna, La.; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Thompson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
