PORT GIBSON — Elizabeth Wells died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 at Patient Choice Hospital in Port Gibson. She was 80.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Athen Wells; her parents, Frank and Mazie Mallory; four brothers, M.H.Mallory, John Mallory, Frank Mallory Jr. and James Mallory.

Survivors include her four sons, Athen Wells Jr., Tommie Wells, Roger Wells and Isaac Wells, all of Port Gibson; five daughters, Savannah Moore of Fayette, Mamie Smith of Houston and Glenda Green, Katie Byrd and Debra Wells, all of Port Gibson; two brothers, J.D. Mallory of Fayette and Tommie Mallory of Pensacola, Fla.; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Grove Christian Church in Pattison with the Rev. Columbus Felton officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be today from 1 until 6 at the funeral home and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church.
