Travis Jones went 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, and Kody Kirkland had two hits for the M-Braves, who played in their 29th one-run game of the season. Jones’ RBI double in the third inning put the Braves ahead 1-0, but West Tenn tied it on Carlos Triunfel’s RBI single in the fourth.
After Ernesto Mejia lined out to start the bottom of the sixth, Cabrera lined a shot over the left field fence. His eighth home run of the year put the Braves ahead 2-1.
Reynoso (7-9) pitched one more inning, then turned it over to the bullpen. Lee Hyde pitched 1 1/3 innings of shutout ball and Craig Kimbrel got the last two outs for his sixth save of the season.
Reynoso allowed two hits and five walks in his seven-inning stint. He struck out two and won for the first time since July 22. He had been 0-4 in his last five starts.
The M-Braves play their last home game of the season tonight at 7:05 against West Tenn. The M-Braves, who have been eliminated from the Southern League playoff race, finish the season with a five-game series at Carolina.
