Warren Central’s Hannah Register and Walter King both turned in fine performances Friday at the Southern Miss Invitational, placing in the top 15 of the girls and boys meets respectively.

Register ran the 2-mile course in 13 minutes and 20 seconds to finish eighth in the girls’ meet. It was her second top-10 finish in as many meets. King placed 13th in the 5-kilometer boys’ race in a time of 18:23.

WC will return to action next Saturday in Bovina with the Vicksburg High Invitational. The meet, which follows a course across the Vicksburg Soccer Organization’s fields, will begin at 9 a.m.
