Gunman attempts to rob KFC outlet

A man waving a gun attempted to hold up a KFC store at 2915 Clay St., but the robbery was foiled when all the employees ran to the back of the kitchen.

No one was injured.

Sgt. Sandra Williams of the Vicksburg Police Department said a 5-foot-7-inch black male weighing about 200 pounds and wearing a black cap, a black shirt and blue jeans entered the business at 2915 Clay and displayed the weapon at 9:34 p.m.

City man jailed for felony DUI

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail today for felony driving under the influence.

Alton Jackson, 45, 124 Pettway Road, was arrested at 11:11 p.m. Saturday at a roadblock on Indiana Avenue and South Frontage Road, Vicksburg police Sgt. Randy Blake said.

Jackson was being held on $15,000 bond.

DUI becomes a felony on the third arrest.

City man held for drug court

A Vicksburg man was in the Warren County Jail today for drug court sanctions, records showed.

Danny L. Smith, 42, 3805 Washington St., was being held without bond.

Weed trimmer, stereo among missing items

A CD player and a weed trimmer were reported missing in Vicksburg, police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.

A CD player valued at $350 was reported stolen from a 1993 Mazda 626 in the 1900 block of Baldwin Ferry Road at 6:06 a.m. today.

A weed trimmer valued at $100 was reported stolen from a 1989 Toyota pickup in the 500 block of Fairground Street at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday.

In Warren County, a stereo was reported stolen from a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 600 block of Culkin Road at 10:42 p.m. Tuesday, records showed.
