One day, two fires

Published 12:00 am Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Two blazes were reported in south Warren County early this morning, one at a barn full of hay on Fisher Ferry Road and at an abandoned church building on Hankinson Road. Mott Headley Jr. of Port Gibson owns the hay barn, said Warren County Fire Coordinator Kelly Worthy. He said Fisher Ferry firefighters were called to that fire at 4:42 and were on the scene until 7:42. The fire at the abandoned building on Hankinson was reported just after the Fisher Ferry blaze, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said. He said the state Fire Marshal’s Office had been notified of both fires, which is protocol. (Meredith Spencer*The Vicksburg Post)
