CLARKSDALE — Narbell Burks Clark, formerly of Edwards, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Northwest Regional Medical Center in Clarksdale. She was 67.

Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Velma Mace Burks of Edwards; and her sister, LueBertha Burks Jones of Indianola.

Suvivors include her husband, William Donald Clark of Clarksdale; one son, Donald O’Keith Clark of Clarksdale; a stepdaughter, LaJoyce Appleberry of Frederick, Md.; six brothers, Steve Burks Jr. of Chicago, Charles Burks of Vicksburg and Ellis Burks, Alonzo Burks, the Rev. Phillip Burks and Melvin Burks, all of Edwards; five sisters, Golena Parker of Chicago, Mary Dodd of Yazoo City, Florence Prentiss of Clarksdale, Shirley Burks of Indianola and Venetta Taylor of Kathleen, Ga.; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of God in Christ State Headquarters, 376 Sunflower Ave. in Clarksdale, under the direction of Century Funeral Home of Clarksdale. Burial will follow at Henry Cemetery in Edwards.
