Smokes hot in theft on North Washington

Cigars and a CD player were among items reported stolen in Vicksburg Thursday, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Several boxes of cigars and packs of cigarettes were reported missing from Topsie’s Liquor Store, 3512 N. Washington St., at 9:37 a.m.

A Premier Deh CD player valued at $250 was reported stolen from an NRoute public transit bus in the 1500 block of Walnut Street at 10:47 a.m.

In the county,  a car and a bike were reported missing.

A black 1992 Nissan Sentra valued at $800 was reported stolen in the 2300 block of Glass Road at 11:56 a.m.

A red Next Wipe Out bike valued at $150 was reported stolen from a front yard in the 4200 block of Gibson Road at 6:12 p.m.

City woman injured in wreck on I-20

A Vicksburg woman was injured in a wreck on Interstate 20 east of the city near the weigh station at 10:55 p.m. Thursday.

Sharon DuBois, 60, 100 Estelle Drive, was treated and released from River Region Medical Center, a hospital spokesman said.
