Cappaert and Roberts are wed in Hattiesburg

Lauren Brooke Roberts and Alan Brent Cappaert were united in marriage at 7 p.m. April 25, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church in Hattiesburg. The Rev. Knox Baird officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Jerald Roberts of Hattiesburg. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Delma Jones Roberts and the late Mr. Roberts of Prentiss and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Blair Tonner of Diamondhead.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lynn Cappaert of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Cappaert of Vicksburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Denton Graham of Biloxi.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown that featured a hand-beaded bodice of Swarovski crystals with a scoop neckline and silk-satin ribbon at the waist. It had a full, silk-duchess satin ball skirt with a chapel-length train.

Her silk, finger-length veil was trimmed with pearls and crystals along the edge.

The bride carried a handtied nosegay featuring an array of tulips, hydrangeas, Vendella roses, casa blanca lilies and phalaenopsis orchids in shades of ivory and white.

Attending the bride as matrons of honor were Sage Byrd Nichols and Lisa Stuart Smith. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Scott Bradford, Sarah Alice Cunningham, Ashley Avalon Hemleben, Brandi Bilbo Lewis, Erin Powell McCain, Susan Durham McNamara, Malia Pelly Metzner, Candice Michelle Polk, Leslie Rowe Sadler and Brander Cappaert Schwartz.

They wore black-satin silk gowns with a contrasting waistband in raspberry and carried handtied nosegays of white French tulips, hydrangeas and roses accented with pink peony buds.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Scott Patrick Burr, Battle Bell Ewing, Stephen Hamilton Frey, Andrew Neal George, Randall Dean Lampkin, Jeffery Barclay Mast, Michael William Ring, William Dewitt Robinson, Robert Aubrey Sadler, William Louis Shappley III and Adam Wesley Todd.

Serving as ushers were Brian Edward Baker, Aaron Thomas Duff, Stephen Damien Duff and Matthew Evan Farrell.

Scripture readers were Lauren Tate Gall and Melissa Skertich Sutherlin. Registry and program attendants were Leslie Waits Lang and Robin Waits Norval.

Nuptial music was provided by Kerrin Hightower, vocalist; Loleeta Rhett, organist; William Rose, trumpeter; and the Musica String Quartet.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Lake Terrace Convention Center where guests enjoyed entertainment by Raphael Semmes and These Days featuring Jewel Bass and Eddie Robinson.

After honeymooning in Italy, the couple is at home in Vicksburg.
