The engagement of Stephanie Dian’e Mitchell to Jamal Adam Ward, both of Vicksburg, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 3 p.m. Oct. 10, 2009, at Worship Christian Center. A reception will follow. All family members are invited to attend the private ceremony.

Miss Mitchell is the daughter of Geneva Dixon and John Dan Dixon. She is the granddaughter of the late Willie Mae and Louis Master Mitchell Jr.

Mr. Ward is the son of Willie Mae Coleman and James E. Ward Jr. He is the grandson of the late Rosie L. Buchanan.

The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where she was a 4-year member of NJROTC.

Miss Mitchell is a cook at Rainbow Casino.

The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Vicksburg High School. He attended Hinds Community College.

Mr. Ward is a slot attendant at Rainbow Casino.
