ST. JOSEPH, La. — Clara Mae McGill Bean died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009. She was 83.
Mrs. Bean was an elder at Newellton Union Church. She had worked with the Louisiana State University Extension Service as a 4-H agent and as the home economist for Tensas Parish.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Jeff Bean; two sons, Jeff Kirkpatrick Bean and Ivan Arthur Bean; and a sister, Georgia Helen Franks.
Survivors include her son, Col. Allan Klark Bean of St. Joseph; a daughter, Abi Gail Bean of St. Joseph; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Jonesville with the Revs. Melodie Long, Joe Hill, Johnny Wilkins and Mildred Bean officiating. Young’s Funeral Home of Jonesville has charge of arrangements. Visitation will be tonight from 5 until 8 at the church.
Services to disperse her ashes will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Trout Creek Cemetery in Call, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Jason Bean, Jeff Bean, Matthew Bean, Damon Bean, Scott Bean, Richard Wilds, Carl Davis, Mike Wilson, Mike Cazenave and Jay King.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Tiser, Raymond Nicholson, Dickey Wilds, Michael J. Wilson, Robert Lee Swayze, Ronnie Swayze and Craig Edwards.
