City couple charged with embezzlement

A Vicksburg couple was released from the Warren County Jail Wednesday after being charged with embezzlement.

Edward Hoover Sr., 44, and Betty Hoover, 45, both of 6695 Oak Ridge Road, were arrested at 3:04 p.m. Wednesday at their place of employment, Jerry’s Collision Center, 1124 Adams St., Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Stewart said both are accused of embezzling $9,500 since January.

They were each released on a $10,000 bond.

Wheels, tires missing at Ford Road home

A residential burglary was reported in the city Wednesday.

A set of four wheels and tires valued at $800 was reported missing at 10:15 a.m. from a home in the 300 block of Ford Road.

Separately, an auto burglary was reported in the city early this morning.

A BancorpSouth checkbook was reported missing at 3 a.m. from a 1998 GMC pickup in the 700 block of Locust Street.

9 treated at hospital after 2 one-car wrecks

Nine people were sent to the hospital Tuesday after two one-car wrecks were reported.

The first wreck was reported at 7:03 a.m. at 1200 Locust St. Dianne Lacey, 51, 1103 Jefferson St., Christine Kemper, 50, 410 Farmer St., and Tonya Candler, 38, address unavailable, were treated and released from River Region Medical Center, hospital spokesman Allen Karel said.

At 9:06 a.m., a wreck was reported at Clay and Adams.Treated and released were Arcola Scott, 24, 1900 Baldwin Ferry Road, Jamarion Walker, 11 months, Clifton Walker, 2, Ronshaylin Walker, 4, Keyasia Scott, 2, and Ronshina Scott, 22, all of 2910 Arcadia St., Karel said.

No other wreck information was available this morning.
