Moses E. Summers

PORT GIBSON — Moses E. Summers died Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at his home his Port Gibson. He was 58.

Mr. Summers was a member and chef at Ashland M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christine Summers and Samuel Belt; and a son, Eric Hedrick.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Summers of Port Gibson; two sons, Robert Majors of Port Gibson and Silento Sayles of Pattison; two daughters, Robin Majors and Theresa Claiborne, both of Port Gibson; six brothers, Mathenious Summers, Tullos Brandon III and Bernell Summers, all of Port Gibson, Cleophus Brandon of Dallas, Robert Skinner of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Edward Robinson of Milwaukee; six sisters, Lorraine Dorsey of Fort Worth, Jacqueline Robinson, Barbara Neal, and Claudia Thompson, all of Port Gibson, and Jessie White and Clara Robinson, both of Milwaukee; numerous grandchildren; and aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends including, Gloria Turnipseed of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ashland M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Otis Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.
