Preacher on right path

Published 12:00 am Sunday, October 11, 2009

This is in regards to the arrest of Micah Bishop, the preacher arrested at the flea market on Oct. 3.

I wonder what the world is coming to when someone spreading the good news of Jesus Christ is arrested. I do not know all the details, but I do know Micah Bishop. He is a young man who is on the right path.

I find it also funny how he doesn’t have the right to preach, but if he wanted to wear his pants below his behind and walk downtown that would  be acceptable. Or how about if he were walking downtown cursing and yelling at passers-by? That would be acceptable, too.

I watch the news and read the papers and I notice that the drug fiends and the mothers starving their children get their 15 minutes of fame, but a young man trying to spread the word of God is treated like the real criminal.

Just wait until the next natural disaster. The state doesn’t mind the churches opening their doors then. Or even a school shooting. Then we all want to pray and wonder why, but we never want to hear about God until it is too late. Every Christian — black, white, Catholic or Baptist — should support this young man and pray for the mess our country is in when you don’t have the freedoms that our country was based on.
