A few good volunteers are needed for the Vicksburg National Military Park to form a Civil War cannon crew on the park’s Napoleon cannon.

At least seven people are asked to report to the park’s maintenance area at 9 a.m. Saturday for drill training and black powder handling instructions, supervisor park ranger Tim Kavanaugh said, adding the need arises for volunteers each year at this time because summer youth volunteers have returned to school.
