South still a lake every time it rains

Several years ago a Warren County coroner was killed in a car wreck on U.S. 61 South. A short while back a deputy was also killed in a car wreck on U.S. 61 South. It had been raining when both of these accidents occurred and U.S. 61 was covered with water. The blame should be placed on the condition of the highway.

When it rains, it’s nothing but a sheet of water. And don’t try to stay on the Highway by using the white lines; you can’t even see them in the daytime. The only way you can tell you are on the roadway is when you are hydroplaning.

Several years ago, U.S. 61 was repaved starting at the airport and on south past Yokena. Can someone answer this question? Why was the highway from the Tomato Hut to the airport not repaved? Why was this part passed over? I guess they ran out of money to do this section of the highway. If I were a loved one of one of these two people who were killed, I’d be looking to hold someone responsible.

There was money to plant trees in the median for a solid mile. Five years from now, these trees will be lying in the highway or in the power lines. Meanwhile, the highway is still under water. Boy, there was a lot of thought put into this. Whoever is responsible for the condition of this highway should be ashamed.
