Traffic stop ends in two cocaine charges for city man

In a traffic stop Wednesday, a Vicksburg man wanted for selling cocaine also picked up a possession of cocaine charge.

Delvechio Ellis, 26, 2633 Pearl St., had a small amount of cocaine with him, said police Lt. Bobby Stewart, when Ellis was stopped at 8:09 p.m. at Bowmar and Yerger streets.

Ellis was in the Issaquena County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

Crepe myrtles, cash among missing items

Trees, a car and electronics were among items reported stolen in Vicksburg, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

At 6:37 this morning, a black 2008 Honda Accord, with Mississippi tag WAM933 and a $25,000 value, was reported stolen from the 100 block of Elizabeth Circle.

At 8:12 a.m. Wednesday, two potted crepe myrtles, valued at $500 each, were reported stolen from Faulk’s Farm & Garden on Clay Street.

At 8:31 p.m. Wednesday, about $10 in change was reported stolen from a home in the 2400 block of Oak Street. And, about 30 minutes later, a 19-inch Sanyo TV valued at $350, a Hitachi DVD/CD player valued at $175 and three slow-cookers valued at $25 each were reported stolen from a home in the 300 block of Bayou Boulevard.

In the county, a camera and truck parts were among items reported missing Wednesday, records showed.

At 11:37 a.m., about $50 and a camera were reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Hackberry Drive.

At 12:39 p.m., truck parts valued at $2,500 were reported stolen from a home in the 5500 block of Nailor Road. About 20 minutes later, a 24-foot ladder valued at $200 and a 30-foot ladder valued at $350 were reported stolen from a van in the 2700 block of Mount Alban Road.
