David Jonathan Daniels died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, in Shreveport, La. He was 42.

Mr. Daniels was born in New Orleans and was a Vicksburg resident. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Horace Jr. and Ivora Daniels; a brother, Horace “Ronnie” Daniels III; maternal grandparents, Elijah and Amanda Lacey; and paternal grandparents, Horace and Leona Daniels.  

Survivors include four brothers, Rainey Daniels of New Orleans, Carl Daniels, Tony McElroy, Mark McElroy and Rossman Daniels, all of Vicksburg; seven sisters, Betty Ann Daniels of Houston, Sharon Bates of Palo Alto, Calif., Andrea Daniels of Jackson, Carolyn Andrews and Reba Denise McElroy, both of New Orleans, and Betty Jean Semi and Leona Amanda Daniels, both of Vicksburg; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
