Miss Smith, Mr. Harris to recite vows Dec. 19

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ira Tew of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Lesley Ann Smith, to Charles Earl Harris Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas. Mr. Harris is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Earl Harris Sr. of Cordova, Tenn.
Miss Smith is also the daughter of Robert Sartor Smith of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Green of Philadelphia, Miss., and Mr. and Mrs. Junior Ray Tew and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Franklin Smith, all of Vicksburg.
Mr. Harris is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Harris of Troy, Tenn., and Mrs. Lou Reed and the late Lou Reed of Chattanooga, Tenn.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Vicksburg High School. She attended Blue Mountain College and Hinds Community College.
Miss Smith is attending Hinds Community College’s Nursing-Allied Health Center, where she will receive a degree in nursing in December.
The prospective groom is a 2004 cum laude graduate of Silverdale Baptist Academy in Chattanooga.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Blue Mountain College and is attending Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Mr. Harris is manager of Union Gospel Mission.
Vows will be exchanged at 2 p.m. Dec. 19, 2009, at Trinity Baptist Church. A reception will follow at the Vicksburg Country Club. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
