A Warren County father of three died Sunday night after being thrown from his vehicle as it rolled over on Redbone Road.

Richard A. Tedder, 47, 69 Burnt House Road, was southbound in his 1986 GMC Jimmy when he lost control in a curve along the south Warren County road at about 6:30 p.m., Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Tedder died of head and chest trauma, said Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey, who pronounced Tedder dead at 8:54 p.m. at River Region Medical Center.

Pace said the SUV appeared to have overturned more than once before Tedder was ejected.

“He was not restrained,” Pace said. “The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.”

Tedder, who was unemployed, formerly worked as an electrician for Hickman Electrical Service on Graceland Circle.

He was “just a country man” who spent his days working on his truck, said his 20-year-old daughter, Nicole Tedder, one of three children.

“He loved working on vehicles and hunting,” said the daughter who said she often joined her father on hunting outings.  “I was always afraid to shoot the gun, so he would shoot it for me,” she said.

Nicole Tedder said her father also liked watching NASCAR races and cooking out with his family.

In addition to Nicole, Tedder is survived by another daughter, Becky Tedder, 16; his son, 14-year-old Billy Tedder; his mother, Carol Tedder; and his girlfriend, Rachel Ballard.

Glenwood Funeral Home was expected to handle arrangements.

This wreck was the seventh fatal accident this year in Warren County. Three have been recorded in Vicksburg.
