A look at how college football players with ties to the Vicksburg area did in games played over the weekend.

• Mississippi College running back Austin Divinity (Hinds AHS) carried the ball five times for 38 yards, and returned one kickoff for 6 yards in the win over Texas Lutheran.

• Mississippi College linebacker Quartez Ashmore (Vicksburg High) had five solo tackles, one tackle for loss, and a forced fumble as the Choctaws beat Texas Lutheran 38-24 to clinch the American Southwest Conference championship.

• Mississippi College defensive back Jason Grigsby (Hinds AHS) had one solo tackle, one assist and one pass breakup.

• Louisiana-Monroe cornerback Otis Stamps (Warren Central) had five solo tackles and a pass breakup in a 21-18 win over Western Kentucky.

• North Texas defensive tackle Kelvin Jackson (Port Gibson) had two solo tackles in a 35-28 loss to Florida International.

• Nicholls State running back A.J. Williams (Hinds AHS) carried the ball nine times for 94 yards, and broke off a 65-yard touchdown run in a 28-21 win over Northwestern State. Williams also returned four kickoffs for 69 yards.

• Louisiana-Lafayette receiver Vernon Wolfe (Vicksburg High) caught two passes for 22 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown, in a 34-17 loss to Middle Tennessee on Saturday.

• Southern Miss safety Chico Hunter (Warren Central) had three solo tackles and two assists in a 27-20 win over Marshall.
