UTICA — Charles Brinston died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at his home in Utica. He was 76.

Mr. Brinston is survived by his mother, Ludie Bell Short of Pattison; two sons, Edward Brinston of Naples, Italy, and Andrew Brinston of Utica; three daughters, Betty Brinston, Denise Williams and Jean Furnace, all of Utica; five sisters, Katie Brinston and Mary Brown, both of Pattison, Carrie Brinston and Margaret Adams, both of Brookhaven, and Annie Owens of Jackson; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Morningstar M.B. Church in Utica with Elder Robert Walker of Loving Faith Outreach Ministries in Harvey, La., officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 today at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.
