This and that|Luminaries event set for Dec. 13

Published 12:00 am Sunday, November 22, 2009

The annual Glenwood Circle Lighting of the Luminaries, set for Dec. 13, will be led by a new group of organizers.

Boy Scouts had headed up the event for about the past decade. But, this year, Scott and Becky Towne of Vicklan Street and former Edna Drive resident Shannon Curro, who now lives in Marion Park, have decided to take up the challenge. The change was prompted by the retirement of a local Scouts leader.

Sought are volunteers and donations for the lighting, set to begin at 5 p.m. Participants are asked to meet at 9 a.m. at the Glenwood Cirlce park, at Vicklan and Chambers streets.
