Miss Waring to wed Gannon in Jackson

Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jacob Waring of Jackson announce the engagement of their daughter, Millie Kathryn, to Grant Pierson Gannon. Mr. Gannon is the son of Isabeth Scripture Gannon of Birmingham, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Redmon Gannon of Vestavia Hills, Ala.
Miss Waring is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Arthur Tohill Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. James Lawrence Waring Sr., all of Vicksburg.
Mr. Gannon is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ellis B. Scripture of York, Pa., and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert H. Gannon of Enterprise, Ala.
The bride-elect is a 2001 National Merit graduate of Murrah High School and a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi, where she received a bachelor’s degree in communicative disorders.
After teaching at Magnolia Speech School, she received her master’s degree in learning disabilities from Northwestern University.
Miss Waring is a learning behavior specialist at Highcrest Middle School in Wilmette, Ill.
The prospective groom is a graduate of Vestavia Hills High School in Birmingham and the University of Mississippi, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in marketing communications. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and was named to Who’s Who Among American College Students.
Mr. Gannon is an interactive marketing coordinator for NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, Ill.
Vows will be exchanged at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 2, 2010, at Galloway Memorial United Methodist Church in Jackson. A reception will follow at The South.
