Tickets are $43.75 per person and are available after 10 a.m. Friday.

The comedian and actor, whose real name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney, will perform a live comedy show Jan. 23 at the Vicksburg Convention Center as part of his four-month Tailgate Party Tour.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the convention center box office and other locations for $43.75 per person.

The convention center’s executive director Larry Gawronski said the 2,100-seat capacity will provide an intimate setting where the last row of the audience will be no more than 34 yards away from the stage. “This is one for the ages,” he said.

Whitney, 46, started out his career as an adult-themed stand-up comedian in 1985 in West Palm Beach, Fla.

He developed his stage character “Larry the Cable Guy” in the early 1990s during his time as a radio performer. Whitney can be seen performing his comedy routine in signature jeans and an untucked, cut-off flannel shirt shouting his catch phrase, “git-er-done.”

His acts are on a variety of topics based on his character’s point of view. He has performed his comedy routine in front of crowds as large as 300,000.

In 2007, he was named No. 81 on Forbes Celebrity 100 list of most powerful entertainers of the year.

He has co-starred with Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour concert, which led to three movies, “Blue Collar Comedy Tour, The Movie,” “Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again” and “Blue Collar Comedy Tour, One For The Road.”

In addition, he was the voice of Mater in the 2006 Disney/Pixar film “Cars” as well as starring in the 2008 movie “Witless Protection” and 2006 “Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector.”
