Light snow in forecast

Conditions are favorable for a thin blanket of snow to cover lawns and rooftops in Vicksburg by early Saturday morning.
Skies should be clear tonight, with low temperatures dipping to 33 degrees. Friday night’s rain chances will increase to 80 percent with a low around 30 — just enough of a convergence of cold and clouds to produce a little snow.
“We may see a dusting on grass, but we aren’t looking for more than an inch,” said Lynn Burse, senior meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Jackson.
Winds tonight will be out of the north-northeast at 5 to 10 mph, shifting to the north-northwest at 10 to 15 mph by Saturday. Lows Saturday night will be colder, 26 degrees, but with no rain or snow forecast.
