Pettersson, who is from Sweden, and Langeland, from Norway, are two of three foreign exchange students on WC’s roster. The third, German Tim Hoeptner, scored a goal in a 2-1 win over Vicksburg on Tuesday.

Pettersson’s goal on Saturday helped the Vikings salvage a tough weekend in Jackson. They lost their tournament opener against Brandon on Thursday, 4-1, then were shut out 2-0 by Ridgeland on Friday. Buddy Cook scored off an assist from Erik Chappell for WC’s only goal against Brandon.

WC’s girls’ team had the same results, but had a disappointing finish. Ridgeland beat the Lady Vikes 2-0 in the Mid-Mississippi Classic.

The Lady Vikes had split their first two games, losing 1-0 to Pearl on Thursday and beating Caledonia 3-0 on Friday.
