The third suspect in the 2005 shooting death of 26-year-old Kennado Caples was scheduled to appear in court today after being released from the Issaquena County Jail on $50,000 bond Tuesday night.

Larry Hamlin, 30, 848 Shenandoah Valley Road, Jackson, surrendered at Vicksburg police headquarters at 11:33 Tuesday morning after his attorney had told him he was wanted, Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Hamlin was charged with accessory after the fact of murder, Stewart said.

He was not home at the time police tried to arrest him Thursday when they charged Kathryn Blue, 30, 2606 Ken Karyl Ave., and her brother, Dwight Albert, 35, Bazinsky Road, with murder, Stewart said.

The brother and sister were released from the Warren County Jail on bonds of $50,000 each during the weekend.

Initial reports were that Caples was shot several times, including in his neck, while fighting with a burglar in his home at 2708 Letitia St., on May 8, 2005. Officials said his girlfriend, Blue, who shared the home with him, called authorities and described the intrusion. She was charged with accessory on Oct. 4, that year when Albert and Hamlin were arrested for murder.

The trio was released on the original charges after a grand jury determined there was insufficient evidence to take the case to trial.

After four years of studying the case, officials believe they now have enough evidence to prosecute, Stewart said.
