Robert R. Lowe Sr.

CLINTON — Robert R. Lowe Sr., 93, (Bob) of Clinton passed away on Dec. 12, 2009. A native Mississippian, he’d lived in Clinton since 1972. He graduated from Mississippi State University with an Agricultural Engineering Degree. A captain in communications in the U.S. Army, he served in World War II and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a longtime member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church and was in agricultural sales.

He is survived by his sons, Cmdr. Bobby Lowe, MC, USN, of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Johnny Lowe of Clinton. Other survivors include Gloria and Don Whittington, James and Edna Gibson, Jeannie and David Parham, Dickie and Catherine Haining, Lynn and Brenda Butler, Linda and Graham Spencer, Brantley and Bryce Johnson and Jim Sharp. The family extends special thanks to the staff and friends at Trinity Mission of Clinton.

Known as “Sunshine” by friends and family, his loving spirit and sense of humor will be missed by all. Go Dawgs!

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight, Dec. 14, and from 11:30 until the 12:30 p.m. Tuesday service at Chancellor Funeral Home, Byram. Interment will be at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Madison.
