Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said the stabbing was reported outside McDonald’s on Iowa Boulevard at 5:21 p.m.

A witness told police the two were in the same vehicle that pulled into a parking spot at the eatery, the two argued and Gaines stepped out of the vehicle with stab wounds.

He said Gaines had at least three wounds, in both arms and his chest.

Grimes and Gaines are thought to be in a relationship, though police were uncertain whether they are married.

The incident closed the restaurant to customers for about an hour and a half.

Grimes was held on $2,500 bond.
