MONROE — Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Virginia Horstmann, 83, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Monroe and Vicksburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum chapel with the Rev. Lys Cockrell officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mrs. Horstmann passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Christus St. Catherine’s Hospital in Katy, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Horstmann; and two brothers, Edward and Bernard Thomas.

Survivors include her son, Buddy Horstmann and wife Debbie of Monroe; her daughter, Renae Schmidt and husband Thomas of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Lisa Doyle and husband Chris, Lee Horstmann and Kyle Horstmann; and one great-grandson, Alec Doyle.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum chapel.
