Two people were reportedly taken to the hospital and three escaped without injury this morning after a house fire at 1208 Locust St.

Alice May Ringo, 34, was taken to River Region Medical Center for smoke inhalation, and Steven Baily, 30, was treated for minor burns, Lt. Bobby Stewart of the Vicksburg Police Department said. River Region spokesman Allen Karel said Baily was treated and released but he had no record of Ringo’s being treated.

Vicksburg Fire Department officials said they did not have a report at 9 a.m. and could not comment on the fire, which was reported at 4:44 a.m.
