Alma Manyfield Stewart died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Promise Hospital. She was 79.

Mrs. Stewart was a member of Rock of Ages M.B. Church, where she served on the mother board. She retired from Bowmar Elementary School cafeteria after 22 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Carrie Manyfield; and siblings J.C. Manyfield, Annie Jean Holland, Jeanette Cassell and Pearl McPhearson.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Stewart Sr. of Vicksburg; three sons, Robert Stewart Jr. of Vicksburg, Donnell Stewart of Edwards and Stanley Stewart of Chicago; two daughters, Betty Stewart Stevens and Karen Donald, both of Vicksburg; two brothers, Sherman Manyfield of Gary, Ind., and James Otis of Chicago; three sisters, Carrie Mae Foster of Edwards, Lizzie Jones of Bellwood, Ill., and Neva Barnes of Chicago; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including the Flaggs, Taylor, Brown, Price, Hall, Gardner and Parson families.

Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
