Thomas D. “Tom” Ferrell died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at River Region Medical Center. He was 66.

Born in Grenada, Mr. Ferrell had lived in Vicksburg for the past 36 years. He worked for International Paper for 30 years. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Patrice E. Ferrell; and a sister, Jerry Fortenberry.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ellis Ferrell of Vicksburg; one son, Brent Ferrell of New Orleans; one daughter, Sophia Ditto and husband Tony of Vicksburg; a brother, Johnny Ferrell of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, Denise Ratliff, Joseph Pecanty III and Thomas Ferrell; and four great-grandchildren, Jacie Ratliff, Bradley Pecanty, Declan Ratliff and Haidon Pecanty.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lighthouse Baptist Church with the Rev. E.L. Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Pecanty III, Kerry Ratliff, Matt Lee, Mark Lee, Tony Ditto and Joe Pecanty Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Stokes, Tommy Stokes, Bill Houston, Lewis Tingle, Frank Wolf and Johnny Ferrell.
