UTICA — Booker T. Barnes died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 50.

Survivors include his mother, Mamie Barnes of Utica; a brother, Robert E. Barnes of Vicksburg; five sisters, Patricia A. Moore, Maxine Barnes and Catherine Barnes, all of Utica, Cindy Thomas of Jackson and Allison Marbra of Savannah; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Second Union Baptist Church in Utica with the Rev. Earl Thompson Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 5 p.m. Friday at Thompson Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.
